42Networks launches Home Device Director
42Networks, a Stockholm based provider of FTTH and broadband telephony products and services, is announcing general availability of HDD (Home Device Director).
HDD is a software solution for remote management of the full suite of 42Networks DRG products (Digital Residential Gateways), by providing an automated tool for operators to deploy, configure and control their triple play services. The powerful features of HDD minimize service provisioning and configuration tasks for operators, thereby reducing their management efforts and their costs of maintaining services. Some of the HDD highlights are: - Automated and remote configuration of single or multiple DRGs
- Full inventory and fault management capabilities
- Auto-discovery of new DRG units
- Standards-based open interfaces for maximum integration flexibility with OSS (Operational Support Systems)
HDD is a result of direct customer input and operational system requirements, based on current 42Networks installations worldwide.
"With our existing customers driving the HDD development, we are confident about successfully meeting their operational needs, at the same time as continually providing world leading DRG solutions to our new customers," said Timo Kuusela, VP OEM at 42Networks. "Furthermore, the open interfaces and integration flexibility of HDD make it a valuable solution for our systems integration partners," continued Kuusela.
With the addition of HDD to the extensive line of 42Networks CPE devices, operators and service providers are able to offer the maximum flexibility in their triple play services.
HDD is running in a dozen commercial network deployments with ongoing field trials and additional customer commitments as a result.
