New 42Networks CPE - DRG 600
42Networks, a Stockholm based provider of FTTH and broadband telephony products and services, is announcing general availability of the new modular CPE series (Customer Premises Equipment), DRG 600 (Digital Residential Gateways).
DRG 600 is a unique world-first CPE with functional elements separated into physical modules. The separation of service modules provides customers and partners with maximum flexibility in service deployment and packaging, as well as a more gradual investment curve adapted to the needs of their end users. Once the fiber connection is terminated by the Base module of DRG 600, other modules are very easily “clicked-on” and provide instant access to all available operator services.
Apart from the Access module which is available with an optional CaTV (Cable TV) component, the current DRG 600 modules include the Switch, Telephony and WiFi modules. The modular design of DRG 600 gives 42Networks great flexibility to quickly develop and release new functional elements in response to changing market demands. Some of the DRG 600 feature highlights are:
- Fully modular CPE
- CaTV module fully manageable
- WiFi functionality
- World-leading VoIP implementation
- Extremely easy to assemble
- Only one power supply unit necessary for multiple modules
“With the addition of the unique modular DRG 600 to the already extensive line of fiber and copper CPEs, 42Networks maintains the status as the world-leading provider of customer premises equipment for the growing market of fiber deployments worldwide, with over 600k units in commercial operation to date” says Tom Andersen, VP OEM at 42Networks.
All 42Networks DRGs are remotely manageable by HDD (Home Device Director), the automated 42Networks software solution for provisioning, configuration and CPE management.
