Broadband Telephony
All 42Networks products that support broadband telephony share the
same VoIP implementation. Our implementation offers:
First Line Telephony
42Networks VoIP solutions support many of the class 5 services internally. Such
services are for example Call Forwarding, CLIP/CLIR, Call Waiting, Call
Completion Busy Subscriber (CCBS) and 3-Party Conference. Together with high
availability and voice quality, this allows operators to provide first-line telephony to end
users.
Scalability
42Networks can support different networks, from start-up VoIP operators to large
international carriers, and offer easy and cost-efficient scalability from hundreds up to millions of
customers.
Quality of Service Measurement
By enabling continuous structured monitoring of
the QoS, the service provider can verify the quality of the telephone traffic all the
way to the customer. This information can be used, for example, for
SLA or customer care purposes. Correct information concerning the traffic quality also
helps to optimize the backbone network layout and growth.
Security
Security is a major concern in Ethernet based systems. In combination with per
minute fee-based services such as telephony, this becomes even more important. To
guarantee maximum security, the CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) units are not only
identified during registration, but each call is authenticated with a crypto key.
Security can however never be achieved on one level alone, but has to be applied all
the way from physical to service layer. This is exactly what 42Networks has
achieved by introducing security mechanisms on all layers.
Interoperability
As our products are interoperability tested with all major softswitch vendors, the start-up phase of new
customer projects is fast and cost efficient which saves both time and valuable human resources. In the event of interoperability issues, there is full flexibility for handling
adjustments due to the resident internal signaling stacks, regardless if the protocol is SIP, H.323. MGCP or
H.248.
