Media Converter for CaTV (MCC)
MCC is a media converter for Cable-TV services. It converts analogue
and/or digital TV signals from fiber to standard 75 Ohm coax, enabling
distribution of traditional CaTV services over FTTH networks.
Main benefits of CaTV services over IPTV are:
- No rewiring of in-house cabling is required as
existing Coax cabling can be reused
- No need for IPTV set-top boxes when using analogue TV signal
The MCC module can be installed in the 42Networks Fiber Termination
Unit (FTU). The MCC and FTU combination can be
used as a stand-alone product or integrated with the DRG 500 series.
