DRG 540 Series
'Click-on' Concept
The DRG 540 series has the same high functionality level as the DRG 340 series.
In addition, the DRG 540 series features a unique ‘Click-on’ concept with integrated
Fiber Termination Unit (FTU) that makes the fiber installation itself
considerably easier and faster as no patch cables or ducts are required. At the
same time, the integrated unit provides a safe and appealing installation for the
end user.
Multiple broadband services
The DRG 540 series offer 2 POTS lines and 4 Ethernet LAN
ports for end-user services. Interface to the broadband access network is
either singlemode/multimode fiber or copper (RJ45).
DRG 540 series allows operators and service providers to offer a broad
range of broadband services, such as:
- Telephony: Existing analogue telephones or fax
machines can be connected directly to the DRG unit to get broadband telephony
services. Compliant with existing VoIP standards, e.g. H.323, SIP, MGCP and
H.248, the DRG 540 works in many environments and with many systems.
- IP-TV: By connecting a set top box to one of the
Ethernet ports, e.g. Video on Demand can be delivered simultaneously with
telephony and fast Internet.
- Internet: 4 LAN ports give the end user the possibility to
connect several computers to the unit.
Using features like QoS tagging, hardware queues, bandwidth shaping,
MAC-address restriction and IGMP snooping, the service offering can be
differentiated to suite a broad range of end users.
Remote management
The DRG is plug and play for the end user. It is designed for remote service
provisioning, configuration and software upgrades. The DRG units can be
integrated with existing network or element management systems via open
interfaces, such as SNMP. Alternatively, the 42Networks HDD management system can
be used to automate provisioning and configuration of the DRG
units.
